A Case for Horses
Summoning, an opportunity for Jagex to implement horses into Runescape? Perhaps. Maybe not as ride-able familiars, but as pack animals, like yaks.
Horses have been suggested by thousands of users in the Runescape Official Forums. Suggest so many times, in fact, that Jagex has added it to the do not suggest list. Yet horses remain absent in Runescape. Why? Because for every player who supports horses being added, another player wishes just as strongly that horses not exist in Runescape. Here is some of their reasoning.
We already have unicorn familiars!
These are not horses. People have been asking for horses for years.
We already have horses! (Referring to Diango's horses)
This is not what has been requested.
We already have yaks!
Yaks aren't horses. People are asking for horses.
Horses are childish!
Not true. Many adults own and love horses as well as children.
Horses would ruin Runescape. Familiars and pets make clicking hard enough!
One or two more familiars isn't going to make a difference.
There's no need for horses in Runescape.
Tell that to the thousands of players who have requested it on the Runescape forums.
Thousands of players have also asked for guns, litesabres, etc..
These do not fit in with the period or theme of Runescape. Horses, however, do.
I think the reason people don't want to see horses in Runescape, is because they think Jagex would do a bad job making them. They think it'd make Runescape look babyish, uncool or something. Not much faith in Jagex huh.
